School days bring congestion: School buses are picking up their passengers, kids on bikes are hurrying to get to school before the bell rings, harried parents are trying to drop their kids off before work. It’s never more important for drivers to slow down and pay attention than when kids are present – especially before and after school.
Due to their devastating impact, school shootings are what first come to mind when school safety is discussed. While the school safety plans the NDSC develops with school districts address worst-case scenarios, they also are vital in managing the ongoing, inevitable daily incidences schools face.
To provide guidance to schools, the NDSC and EAPC created free virtual training courses in partnership with multiple agencies, including the N.D. Department of Public Instruction (DPI) and N.D. Department of Health (NDDoH).
