Q: Who should become a member?

Any organization can join the North Dakota Safety Council, no matter where you’re located! Whether your team operates in North Dakota, across the U.S., or into Canada, our training, resources, and expert support are built to strengthen safety performance wherever work happens. With nearly 200 training courses available, we offer options to support organizations of all industries, sizes, and safety goals, so there’s something for everyone.

Q: What types of training are included or discounted?

Members receive over 25% off most standard training rates for classroom and some online courses. To access these exclusive discounts, simply log into your training account when registering.

In addition, active members receive an annual buy-one-get-one-free registration for one of the following public in-person courses:

  • CPR/AED/First Aid (Adult)
  • Defensive Driving Course (DDC-4)
  • OSHA 10-Hour Construction (ECCS)
  • OSHA 10-Hour General Industry

These benefits make it easier—and more cost-effective—to keep your team trained and safety-focused year-round.

Q: Do you offer online and in-person training options?

Yes! We provide online, distance learning (course taught online by safety trainer in real-time), in-person training, giving you the flexibility to learn in the format that works best for your schedule and preferences.

Q: Can you provide customized or on-site training for our company?

Yes! Most of our courses are available as private training, allowing us to tailor the content to your industry and schedule to fit your organization’s specific needs.  The best part about training with the NDSC…you have OPTIONS! We can come directly to your location, delivery training at your business, leaving out the hassle of travel. OR the NDSC can host your session at our training centers in Bismarck, Minot or Fargo.  If you’re not located near one of our facilities, or don’t have a training space in your building, we can help with that too. The bottom line…the NDSC is here for your team.

Q: Are there free resources available to members?

Yes! Active members have access to a wide range of complimentary safety resources designed to support ongoing training and compliance efforts.

Members can take advantage of a safety training video library featuring more than 1,300 titles. After joining, simply request access to begin using 3-day streaming rentals—perfect for safety meetings and toolbox talks. Learn more here: https://www.ndsc.org/safety-training-video-library/

Each year, members are also invited to attend our Critical Issues Training Series at no cost. This annual event covers a timely safety topic and rotates through multiple locations across the state, making it accessible to members in various regions.

In addition, members can schedule a free 15–20-minute virtual or in-person safety talk led by one of our Safety Consultants. These live, interactive sessions can be customized to your preferred topic and include time for questions and discussion—no pre-recordings, just real-time engagement from wherever you have internet access.

Additional complimentary services include on-site AED checkups to help ensure your program remains compliant, as well as a free Safety Consultant visit to identify potential hazards and provide guidance on improving workplace safety.

Additional complimentary resources include access to a growing library of Safety Talks developed by our experienced safety trainers to help reinforce important workplace safety topics.

Q: How much does membership cost?

Membership rates are based on your organization type – such as a school, non-profit, or government agency—as well as the number of employees at your business. This structure ensures pricing is tailored to fit organizations of all sizes.

Q: Can our company be featured or highlighted as a member?

Q: When does my membership start and how does it last?

Your membership begins at the time of enrollment and remains active for one year. To maintain uninterrupted benefits, it should be renewed during the same month each year.
