Q: What is the North Dakota Safety Council?
A: The North Dakota Safety Council (NDSC) is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing injuries and saving lives through safety training, education, and advocacy across North Dakota and beyond. Our work is supported by memberships, training programs, grants, and donations. We focus on four key areas of safety: Workplace Safety, Community Safety, Driver Safety, and First Aid & Emergency Response. Q: Who can become a member?
A: Membership is open to any workplace, business, organization, or government entity in the United States. You do not need to be located in North Dakota or conduct business within the state to become a member. Q: What is the difference between online and distance-learning training?
A: While both options allow you to learn without attending a traditional in-person classroom, there are some key differences:
Online Training
Online courses are self-paced and can be completed whenever it is convenient for you. Participants access course materials through our online learning platform and work through the content at their own pace within the allotted course timeframe.
Distance-Learning Training
Distance-learning courses are instructor-led and delivered virtually through a live online platform. Participants attend scheduled sessions in real time, interact with the instructor, and may have opportunities to ask questions and participate in discussions. It is similar to a classroom experience, but from a remote location.
Both training formats offer flexibility while helping participants gain valuable knowledge and skills. If you’re unsure which option is best for your needs, our team is happy to help you find the right training solution.

A: Registering for training is simple and convenient. You can view our course offerings and register online through our Course Calendar or individual course listing pages.
If you are a member, make sure you’re logged in to your training account to receive your member discount.

Members of the North Dakota Safety Council receive a discounted rate for our Annual Safety & Health Conference, and attendance is free for members at our Critical Issues Training Series events.

Please note: classroom and meeting space rentals are available only at our Bismarck Campus.

Q: What are the office hours for the North Dakota Safety Council?
A: The North Dakota Safety Council’s office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Central Time).
Summer Hours: On Fridays during the summer, our office closes at 4:00 PM.
Our team is available during these hours to assist with training registrations, membership questions, event information, and general inquiries. If you contact us outside of business hours, we will respond as soon as possible on the next business day.
