Missouri Slope Looking for a Safety & Health HR Intern

Summer internship – May through August

  • 20 hours per week
  • Shifts available Monday through Thursday between 8:00am – 4:30pm
  • Schedule will be determined based on candidate availability and school program requirements

Primary Job Function

  • Practical skill and project based internship opportunity
  • Support to the HR department in an organized, efficient, and professional manner with a focus on Safety and Health program initiatives


  • Focus on the following three core learning objectives for personal development and organizational support:
  • Practical Skill Development
    • Ownership of multiple daily and weekly tasks
    • Assist in facilitation of new hire fit testing
    • Data maintenance for assorted employee listings and documents
    • Filing, purging, and record keeping as needed
  • Safety Training and Preparation Skills
    • Training input and enhancement
    • Planning and preparation for advanced safety certification renewal on a corporate level
    • Policy review revisions
  • Strategic Planning
    • Opportunity to create change evaluation and proposals, data analysis and metrics, or new quality improvement process recommendations
    • Intern will be offered to join Safety and Health Manager and/or Director of Human Resources at various committee and leadership meetings for strategic exposure as available


  • High school applicants must be in their junior or senior year
  • Collegiate applicants enrolled in a program of study or a major in HR Management, Business Management, or a similarly related field preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office preferred
  • Professional composure, confidentiality, and strong organizational & communication skills preferred
