What do you do at NDSC?
I am the Driver Safety Program Manager. I manage and coordinate NDSC’s Driver Safety programs, including scheduling classes, working with trainers and community partners, and supporting outreach and program growth. I also track program outcomes, assist with grants and budgeting, and help ensure our courses stay current and meet training requirements.
Why is NDSC’s mission to prevent injuries and save lives important to you?
Earlier this year, my daughter and I were in a serious car accident that really opened my eyes to how quickly things can happen on the road. That experience is a big part of what led me to this position. I wanted the opportunity to make a difference in traffic safety and help keep our families and communities safer.
What are your hobbies?
I love playing volleyball, spending time with family and friends, and playing video games.
Name one really interesting thing about yourself.
I’m a pretty big nerd at heart! I collect Funko Pops and Pokémon cards, play a lot of video games, and honestly love anything that gives me an excuse to add something new to my collection.
Biggest pet peeve?
Definitely loud eating or food smacking! I’m glad you’re enjoying your food; I just don’t necessarily need to hear how much.
What animal most closely matches your personality?
I would say an owl. I’m observant, independent, and always taking in what’s going on around me. I also like to think things through, but I’m not afraid to jump in when something needs to get done!
What is your biggest strength and your biggest weakness?
My biggest strength is probably my determination. If I don’t know how to do something, I’ll figure it out and keep going until I get it done. My biggest weakness is that I sometimes take on too much myself and have a hard time asking for help. I’m getting better at realizing I don’t have to do everything on my own!
If you were a superhero, what would your powers be?
Definitely teleportation! I always seem to have a million things going on, so being able to instantly get wherever I need to be would make life a whole lot easier.
What is your biggest fear in life?
Probably time. It always feels like there’s never quite enough of it, and my biggest fear is letting life get too busy and missing the moments that really matter with the people I care about.
