What do you do at NDSC?
I work behind the scenes to support NDSC’s mission by assisting Program Managers and students with classes, registrations, and distributing training materials.

Why is NDSC’s mission to prevent injuries and save lives important to you?
At NDSC, safety is about keeping families whole. Our mission resonates because my family is incredibly important to me. Knowing that our work saves lives fuels my day-to-day work. It’s why I do what I do!

What are your hobbies?
I love playing board games, cultivating and propagating house plants, thrifting, walking, and spending time with my family.

Name one really interesting thing about yourself.
I really enjoy – like really enjoy – visiting National Park Service Units. There are so many hidden gem experiences to be found across the country at historical monuments, preserves, seashores, sites, and parks. When you visit a site, don’t sleep on the posted informational signage! There is so much to learn and do. I’ve visited 95 of the 434 sites in the US National Park System in the past 9 years.

What other talents do you have?
People close to me know that I am a thrift ninja. My stamina for second-hand treasure seeking is unmatched. One of my favorite finds is a vintage picnic tin that we use for holiday treats every Christmas.

If you could travel anywhere, where would it be and why?
I cannot wait to visit Redwood National Park and Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Park. Redwoods are the tallest trees in the world and sequoias are the largest by volume. Experiencing these sorts of natural wonders is truly awe-inspiring.

What is your biggest fear in life?
Snakes – every single kind. A friend told me a couple of years ago about her encounter with a bull snake at Ft. Lincoln and I’ve never been back there in the summer.

What’s on your bucket list?
Attending GenCon! GenCon is North America’s largest and longest-running tabletop board game convention. It’s held annually in Indianapolis and last year over 74,000 people attended. Participants meet game creators, learn about and test new games, participate in scheduled events (there are over 15,000 events to choose from!), and of course play games for four days straight.
