Operation Lifesaver of the Dakotas strives to increase public awareness about the dangers around railroads. The program seeks to educate both drivers and pedestrians to make safe decisions at crossings and around railroad tracks.

Operation Lifesaver’s trained and authorized volunteer speakers provide free safety presentations for people of all professions and age groups. Educational brochures and videos, coloring books for children and training information can be found at Operation Lifesaver Inc.’s website:

Children, new drivers, professional drivers, school bus drivers and general adults are the perfect audience for an Operation Lifesaver presentation!

Operation Lifesaver of the Dakotas has two wrecked car displays that are used as visual reminders of what can happen during a vehicle-train collision. The displays are rotated around the state as an educational tool which also shares a story to the vehicle, along with safety tips to ensure something similar doesn’t happen to your family.
