Run4Change with the NDSC

This year marks the 11th Annual Run4Change, and registration is open. The event will take place Saturday, September 30, 2023.

The run features a unique distance and route, creating a fun family event in the Bismarck-Mandan area. You can run 4 miles that circles from the NDSC building at 1710 Canary Ave around Tom O’Leary golf course and finishes back at the NDSC. The second option is great for kids or adults. Start at the NDSC and walk below the Community Bowl and the new Gateway to Science Center. This run walk is great for everyone and travels along with beautiful views of the Missouri River. Both route options are for everyone. Run, walk or bike!

The Run4Change honors the Deutscher Family, a young family tragically killed on July 6, 2012. The family was killed by a drunk driver whose blood alcohol was over three times the legal limit. Alcohol is a factor in 41% of fatal crashes in North Dakota, and the fix is something we can all have a hand in. Don’t drink and drive; call for a sober ride.

The family and friends of the Deutscher’s developed the run as a way to create change, hoping to shift people’s perception of drinking and driving. Hundreds have supported the cause over the years through volunteering and participating in the walk and run. The North Dakota Safety Council uses funds from the event to encourage safer choices and educate people statewide about the dangers of drinking and driving.

We can’t do this without your help. Choose to sponsor the event or donate to the cause. Pledge your time to walk or run, your support makes an impact.
