Get this: In the U.S. each year, 356,000+ out-of-hospital cardiac arrests (OHCA) occur.
About 90% of the those who experience an OHCA die. That’s a shocking statistic, but The American Heart Association also tells us that “CPR, especially if administered immediately after cardiac arrest, can double or triple a person’s chance of survival.”
Often those suffering from sudden cardiac arrests are middle-aged adults and 50% of that group had no symptoms before the onset of arrest.
And then there’s this! 10,000 sudden cardiac arrests occur in the workplace each year.
