What do you do at NDSC?
As the Senior Marketing and Communications Manager, I oversee all the ways we spread the word on the amazing projects NDSC has to offer. From shooting video, to working with social media and our Conference every day is different in the marketing world! I’ve spent 15 years in the media as a Sports Anchor, News Anchor and News Director at KX News.

Why is NDSC’s mission to prevent injuries and save lives important to you?
It’s a gift to be a part of something bigger than yourself. Giving people the knowledge and skills that will allow them to head home safely to their families is a rewarding job.

What are your hobbies?
Reading! I’m a complete and utter bookworm and spend all my free time with my nose in a book. I love getting lost in a story, from mystery and suspense to romance novels. I also love golfing and coaching volleyball at Century High School in my free time.

If you could travel anywhere, where would it be and why?
I can’t wait to visit Italy and Greece. I absolutely love history and knowing the backstory of all the amazing things our world has to offer. I’m a nerd who’s always thinking about what a set of walls has seen and heard before I ever stepped foot inside. Also, hello girl’s trips! Stress-free, laugh-filled days of adventure with your girlfriends are the best.

Favorite singer/band/song?
I love women who can SANG! Adele, Ariana Grande and Whitney Houston are a few of my favorites. I’ll sing in the car and jam out to all the ballads. Sometimes I’ll kick it to some country. Chris Stapleton, Morgan Wallen and Luke Combs are a few of my favs.

If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?
Helicopter parents. Giving kids the independence to make decisions both good and bad is important. Kids need to learn they won’t always hit a home run. Some days you strike out and it’s all about getting back out there and trying again.

What’s on your bucket list?
Skydiving! While some may think it’s crazy to jump from a plane, I think it sounds amazing. It’s also on my mom’s bucket list so hopefully we’ll get to be WILD together.

What is your biggest fear in life?
It’s not even remotely rational, but driving under a bridge as it collapses.

What is your favorite movie, book and TV show?
Movie – ‘Pretty Woman’ or ‘The Sound of Music’, it all depends on my mood!

Book – ‘The Wolf and the Dove.’ My mom handed me my first Kathleen Woodiwiss book when I was just 14, and it got me hooked on a love of reading.

Show – With two young boys at home, I rarely have time to watch TV, but ‘The Good Wife’ and ‘Is it Cake?’ are a few of my favorites.
