Andrea is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and has Professional certifications from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) ASP and CIT, from the National Association of Safety Professionals (NASP) CSM, from the National Safety Council (NSC) ASC, from The Back School a CEAS (Certified Ergonomics Assessment Specialist). She has over 15 years’ experience in safety in the transportation, manufacturing and construction industries, and has an MS in Occupational Health and Safety from Columbia Southern University and an MBA from American Military University.

What do you do at NDSC?
I am an instructor based out of the Fargo office. I teach First aid/CPR/AED, OSHA General Industry 10/30 hour, and other safety, environmental, and traffic courses. Before coming to work for the NDSC I spent 15 years working as a Environmental, Health and Safety coordinator, supervisor, and manager in the construction, Transportation and manufacturing industries. I have a Master of Science in Occupational Health and Safety from Columbia Southern University and an MBA from the American Military University.
Why is NDSC’s mission to prevent injuries and save lives important to you?
I believe that everyone should go home safely after their shift at work. No one should die on the job leaving behind love ones who have to try and pick up the pieces.
What are your hobbies?
I enjoy gardening, hiking, reading, and traveling.
Name one really interesting thing about yourself.
I have been to all 50 states and over 50 countries.
If you could travel anywhere, where would it be and why?
Antarctica. It is a place that few people have been and the chance to see something mostly untouched by humans would be extraordinary.
What animal most closely matches your personality?
The household cat. They are curious, adaptable, and independent.
What store would you pick to max out your credit card?
Amazon. You can find anything on Amazon so I could take my pick!
If you were a superhero, what would your powers be?
My superpower would be to move through space (portal). It would be great to be in one place and in a blink be somewhere else. It would make traveling so much easier.
