What do you do at NDSC?
I lead the Marketing and Communication at NDSC. A big part of safety is communicating, and I want to make sure that our students, our members and the public understand why safety matters, how to be safe and how we can help.
Why is NDSC’s mission to prevent injuries and save lives important to you?
I am constantly telling my three sons to make good choices (!). Focusing on this mission allows me to help them, and everyone we serve, know what that means. It’s always been important to me to contribute to the greater good as a part of my professional life. Preventing injuries and saving lives is good work worth doing.
What are your hobbies?
Reading, sailing, hiking with my dogs, yoga, gardening, cooking.
Neko Case, Brandi Carlile and Wilco. With a special shout out to the singing and songwriting skills of Shadd and Owen Piehl.
Biggest pet peeve?
Random capitalization and inappropriate usage of quotation marks.
What animal most closely matches your personality?
A dog for sure. I’m optimistic, energetic, unabashedly social, and I need lots of praise and plenty of exercise in order to be my best self.
What is your biggest strength and your biggest weakness?
Strength: I’m hilarious.
Weakness: I think I’m hilarious. Also, I curse a lot.
If you were a superhero, what would your powers be?
To impart empathy to jerks and eliminate plastic waste.
What is your biggest fear in life?
What is your favorite movie, book and TV show?
Movies: Gone with the Wind, the early Star Wars movies, and Ladybird.
