Evaluating Your Company’s Industrial Hygiene Program

Every year the trainers at North Dakota Safety Council decide on a hot safety topic that’s relevant and relatable for safety professionals. This topic is then developed into our Critical Issues training series. Critical Issues is a free benefit for those companies who are NDSC members. Non-Members are also able to attend for a fee. In 2022 more than a dozen NDSC trainers discussed the important topic of Industrial Hygiene, and its effects across multiple industries.

With the need to anticipate, recognize, evaluate and control both environmental and physical hazards on the job, the NDSC knows the more knowledge we can provide on this topic, the better conditions for workers statewide.

John Young an NDSC Safety Consultant helped develop this two hours Critical Issues training. Young, who has 30 years of experience as a safety professional, including 20 years with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) gives us an in-depth quality training opportunity. Much of Young’s focus throughout his career has been on practical industrial hygiene. He’s designed and crafted Industrial Hygiene programs and training while working as a safety manager. He is an Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) and is a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM).

During this Critical Issues presentation “Evaluating Your Company’s Industrial Hygiene Program” we will review those assessment and management elements required by OSHA for a successful industrial hygiene program.
