North Dakota Operation Lifesaver is a public education
program designed to reduce the number of collisions,
injuries, and fatalities at highway-rail grade crossings. To
accomplish these goals, North Dakota Operation Lifesaver
works to increase public awareness of potential highway-rail
grade crossing hazards and to improve driver and pedestrian
behaviors at an estimated 6,531 North Dakota public and
private highway-rail intersections.
The Operation Lifesaver program conducts nearly five hundred
quality and effective grade crossing safety presentations
annually. In addition, North Dakota Operation Lifesaver
serves as a valuable resource for various organizations
requesting statistics and educational material on
highway-rail grade crossing safety as well as trespassing
issues.
Contact us at the NDSC for more information on this program
