Dedication to safety more evident now than ever before
Thank you to everyone who participated in the 39th Annual ND Safety & Health Conference held February 7th – 9th at the Bismarck Civic Center! The growing dedication businesses in our state have toward safety and health was extremely evident at this year’s event. 791 people from 291 companies registered for the conference, compared to 575 people and 210 companies in 2011. Attendees represented all industries from across the state including construction, mining, manufacturing, oil & gas, energy, and healthcare, among others.
Of course, this conference would not have been possible without the support of our many sponsors, including ND Workforce Safety & Insurance, who provided a grant to make the event affordable for all businesses, large or small. We felt a tremendous amount of support, as 102 companies sponsored the event, giving us a 48% increase in financial support over 2011. Several other areas of the conference grew beyond our expectations, including the tradeshow with a record 101 companies exhibiting, compared to 69 the year prior and the annual Silent Auction which raised more than $4,000, a 60% increase from 2011. The amount of growth we experienced leads us to believe we are heading in the right direction when it comes to reducing injuries and saving lives.
Thank you from the NDSC staff and Board of Directors - your partnership and presence at the conference really do make a difference in the safety culture at your business and across our state. Your support motivates us to continue pursuing our mission of creating a safer and healthier North Dakota.
We hope you will join us again next year on our Journey to Safety Excellence. Make sure to save the date - February 5-7, 2013 at the Bismarck Civic Center. See you then!
