NDSC Safety & Health Awards Program

The NDSC's awards program is designed to promote incident prevention by honoring companies with outstanding safety programs, employees with superior safety records and North Dakota citizens who have gone above and beyond to improve the safety & health environments in their communities. Each year, companies and individuals are nominated and award winners are recognized at the prestigious Annual Awards Banquet, held in conjunction with the Annual Safety & Health Conference.

Occupational Safety Merit Award
This award is given to companies showing an incidence rate which is equal to or less than the national average in their North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code.

Outstanding Safety Instructor
This award is given to a safety instructor, or an organization, who has taught a significant number of courses or students for the North Dakota Safety Council, as an employee, a contracted instructor, or a sub-agent, using a National Safety Council course.  This person or organization has shown true dedication to improving safety in North Dakota, as well as received high marks for their training style.

Driver of the Year
The North Dakota Safety Council’s driving award program recognizes drivers with admirable safety records. The criteria indicate what is expected of each driver regarding safety performance and their skills to avoid traffic crashes while at work. Eligibility of drivers is based on the National Safety Council’s guidelines for reporting individual driving records as well as motor vehicle crashes.
