ND Operation Lifesaver is always looking for
people who can help spread our safety message and aid in
achieving our goal of ending tragic collisions, deaths and
injuries at highway-rail grade crossings and on railroad
rights-of-way.
Volunteers can contribute to ND Operation
Lifesaver in two ways: as an Operation Lifesaver Associate or as
a Certified Operation Lifesaver Presenter.
PRESENTER
Operation Lifesaver Presenters
give public presentations to numerous civic groups, businesses
and organizations on highway-rail grade crossing safety and
trespass prevention. Presenters complete a training course where
they learn different aspects of rail safety, public speaking
skills and answers to frequently asked questions. Presenters
must complete this training course, a 90-day evaluation and
perform at least four presentations per year.
ASSOCIATE
Associates do not give public
presentations, but they help state programs with countless
day-to-day activities and special events that may include such
tasks as: events assistant, scheduler of presentations, clerical
assistant, etc. Associates must have a strong interest in ND
Operation Lifesaver, complete a training course and attend at
least one ND Operation Lifesaver event per year.
